So this was actually happening. For the first time in years, Billy was doing the apartment life thing. After a couple of handwavey trips to the cove to get some things from his boat, Billy was as working on getting settled in. Or, as settled in as one could when they were moving into an unfurnished apartment with hardly any possessions of their own to begin with.
Billy stood in the doorway as he set the last load of things down on the ground and looked around the apartment again. It was small by most apartment standards, but compared to the space he had been living in the for the last few years it felt absolutely massive. There wasn't much there to look at. Thankfully the kitchen at least had the basic appliances so he would be able to eat once he did some shopping, and the bathroom was enough that it was functional.
As far as the rest of the apartment went, well it was looking a bit sparse at the moment. A small mattress lay on the floor of the bedroom alongside a few duffle bags of clothes and personal belongings. Billy didn't own a lot- which was painfully apparent as he looked around the sparse apartment again. He'd work on it though. If he actually ended up staying here long enough that all that was even necessary.
Shaking his head slightly, Billy picked up the box he had brought in and carried it to the bedroom to begin unpacking and organizing things- such as they were.

Date: 2021-11-06 02:59 pm (UTC)So not Summer at all, it would seem!
"Looks like we have a new neighbor," she said, to no one in particular, it would seem, but loud enough to maybe catch the attention of the latest addition to their floor.

Date: 2021-11-06 03:26 pm (UTC)"Oh hey, sorry if I disturbed you" he said as he ran his hand through the mess of hair and pushed it back out of his eyes. "Just getting a few things moved in...." there was a bit of an awkward pause before he continued. "I'm Billy."

"Do you want help?"

Date: 2021-11-06 04:28 pm (UTC)Billy sighed and rubbed the back of his head as he glanced over his shoulder into the apartment. "There's really not much to help with honestly. Don't have a lot of things yet so it's pretty sparse in here."
He stepped aside to show the nearly empty apartment.

Date: 2021-11-06 05:25 pm (UTC)She did look around the apartment that made the quarters at the undergarden practically look over-furnished, and realized that he did seem to have a handle on things. Which just left...
"Do you like tea? I feel it's only appropriate, to offer a new neighbor tea."
Especially with the cheering news she no doubt brought with the first statement.

Date: 2021-11-06 06:13 pm (UTC)He gave a nod and slight, albeit slightly awkward, smile. "Tea sounds good, thank you."

Date: 2021-11-06 06:20 pm (UTC)"I'll be right back, then," she said and returned, in due time, with two fresh mugs, both with a delicately floral black tea, and handed one over.
"You said you've been here a few weeks?" she asked, to pick the conversation right back up again. "How do you like it so far?"

Date: 2021-11-06 06:42 pm (UTC)"Tea's quite good, thanks" he said before giving a slight, barely discernable sigh. "Island seems decent. Still not quite sure how I got here exactly. And it seems nice but it is definitely not Mexico or the Bahamas" he said with a slight chuckle. "But I have been in far worse places and it's not a terrible place to be stuck in."
Billy took another sip of the tea and then remembered, conversations were two way deals.
"How about you? Mentioned you've been here for a few years?"

Date: 2021-11-06 07:15 pm (UTC)Or, as Tisarwat figured was more the truth, stay out of her way better.
"I'm from space, by the way," she added, as if to get that out of the way, because she knew how these conversations tended to go. "A highly advanced civilization that no one here has ever even heard of. But I've heard of the places you've mentioned. Does that mean you're from this world? Or, at least, a version of it?"

Date: 2021-11-06 07:47 pm (UTC)"Ah yeah there was evidently quite a time jump for me too..." Billy said with a chuckle. "If my count is right for the years and all... I would be pushing 50 if I had actually aged for the time that evidently passed. So.. yeah, really glad that didnt happen... I'm in no hurry to see what I look like old and grey."
Billy was sure he would look dashing, and the real reason he never gave much thought or interest into his life that far into the future was honestly because he never thought he would live to see it. Hell there were quite a few times he wasn't sure if he would make it to see him next birthday, let alone see the end of the decade.
"As far as where I'm from, as far as I know it is still the same world as this, just a couple decades removed. Had been staying in Mexico for a few years and finally decided it was time for a change and headed out towards the islands. Ended up on this island instead. so... yeah, lots of wibbly wobbly timey whimey stuff going on."

Date: 2021-11-06 10:30 pm (UTC)But, of course, Tisarwat would see something like maleability as something worth noting, too.
She nodded a little. "That happens a lot, I hear. I at least had the benefit of knowing I was being sent somewhere, even if I'm not sure if this was actually where I was supposed to go. And two people in my life who I knew that didn't know me was kind of a surprise. It's an odd place, this island, but, like you yourself said, it could be worse. And coming in with weirdness definitely helps prepare you for some of the other stuff to come."

Date: 2021-11-06 11:04 pm (UTC)"Oh, I've seen weird. Like, end of the world apocalypses level weird. So hopefully the island is a little less 'world-ending' with its craziness."
Billy left it at that, for now. He had found that most people didn't believe him when he told them just a fraction of what he had seen in Racoon City and what the Umbrella Corporation had been doing. even when people outright asked him about what all had happened, few were able to fully comprehend what little Billy usually shared. He'd let Tisarwat approach that topic if she wanted.
"But yeah, so far things seem pretty quiet around here."
